TELEPHONE: MUSEUM 8886 TELEGRAMS: MINFEDBRIT, WESTCENT, LONDON. THE MINEWORKERS' FEDERATION OF GREAT BRITAIN SECRETARY: EBBY EDWARDS 50, Russell Square, London, W.C.1. 17th January, 1937. Sir Walter M. Citrine, T.U.C., Transport House, Smith Square, S.W.1, Dear Sir Walter, Some concern is felt within the Federation on the question of the Government preventing volunteers under the Foreign Enlistment Act and fears have been expressed as to whether the National Government would not go a step further and include in this the prevention of collections of food, clothing and medical supplies for the Spanish workers. I trust the National Joint Council will carefully watch this matter now being taken up by the National Government and take all necessary stops to prevent any interference with the question of food and money supplies to the legitimate Spanish Government. Yours sincerely, Ebby Edwards, Secretary.
