Description
Summary:041-0104-001 Daily Herald Scottish Editorial Office, 68-70 Robertson Street, Glasgow. C.2. MEMO from P.J. Dollan To Joint Secretary. Date 12/11/36 Ref. HVT/FC/EK/142 (30th Oct.) Re Scottish Medical Unit for Spain. I have spoken to Sir Daniel several times regarding the above and am informed by him that about £1200 has been received towards an estimated expenditure of £10,000. I think the unit was well intentioned but badly planned, and the difficulties which have arisen are due to indiscipline more than anything else. The unit has been doing good work; is now under capable management; but my opinion is that the wealthy people of Scotland who organised the show ought to produce the finance. This is the only thing they have done on behalf of Democracy in Spain. 292/946/41/104
