The film explores the everyday life of Catholic orphanages in Transylvania run by a Fransiscan monk, Csaba Bojte. From 1992, Csaba runs children's homes in Deva, Szaszvaros and Szovata, provides the much-needed shelter and care for several dozens of children, both Hungarian and Rumanian. Some of the kids were orphaned, some were abandoned by their parents, some were brought to the orphanages by their destitute relatives, unable to make a living in the impoverished area. Through the simple yet heart-breaking stories of the children, the film explores the harsh realities of the Transylvanian countryside, plagued by poverty, unemployment and crime. Csaba Bojte is justly seen by the inhabitants of the area that he serves as both a spiritual pastor and the last resort of advice and assistance in most mundaine matters.
