Summary: | Soros Documentary Fund
Filmed over nearly 20 years, the film tells the story of a couple in Nicaragua. Tinoco is from Leon, on the coast of Nicaragua, while Ninoska is from San Fernando, a small village in the mountains. They met in the early 80s, during the war between the Sandinistas and the Contras, when Tinoco was posted as a soldier to San Fernando. The couple starts off as the quintessential idealistic young lovers. Soon they got married and had three children. Soon however their love would be challenged by poverty, family loyalties, cultural differences and insecurities. |
