| Summary: | The Official Opening Ceremony of the CEU Academic Year 1999-2000 on the 17th of September, 1999 at Vigadó Concert Hall in Budapest. Opening remarks are delivered by Stefan Messmann, Academic Pro-Rector of CEU. Doctoral Student Speaker, Bojana Pecenovic from Legal Studies welcomes the new students. The introduction of the new President and Rector, introduction of Department Heads and Program Heads, the University Officers, Academic Service Unit Heads and Senior Administrators is done by Stefan Messmann, Academic Pro-Rector of CEU. After the musical interlude, Yehuda Elkana, the President and Rector of CEU greet the audience. The opening address belongs to László V. Frenyó, President of the Hungarian Higher Education and Research Council and it is followed by remarks of the Incoming Student Speaker Darin Stefanov from Nationalism Studies. Closing remarks are provided by Stefan Messmann Academic Pro-Rector followed by a reception at CEU.
