Description
Summary:Verzio FF Submission In the dead of night when the alarm signal shrills at their headquarters on the Canal Grande, the pulses of Luca, Salvatore and Gianluca begin to race. These three men are „pompieri“, fire fighters in Venice. They are among the few fire fighters in Venice. If a blaze erupts in one of the centuries-old wooden palaces, there are at too few men to stop the fire to spread. In addition, the variable water levels and a maze of canals and narrow footpaths make the lagoon city an obstacle course for the rescue service. Scant implements, the lack of training possibilities and insufficient human resources make the fire fighters´ job even more difficult. To Salvatore the long-standing fight against bureaucracy and for the safety of his city is a losing battle. In contrast, his younger colleagues Gianluca and Luca make a stand against the difficult situation with imperturbable idealism. What unites them all is their deep passion for a unique city that must be defended – even against all odds.
