Summary: | Natan, a somewhat slow-witted, awkward, and painfully insecure man has just been employed in a grill bar sent there by the job center. His clumsiness frustrates the manager (Viggo) who fires him. However, out of a guilty conscience Viggo offers Natan a ride home. In the car Natan tells Viggo that he lives by himself and has considered buying a dog. Without actually finding out whether Natan wants him to, Viggo takes on the task of getting Natan a dog. Viggo arranges a meeting with Sabina, the dog-owner. During the entire visit Viggo controls the chain of events, imposing his decisions on Natan, who feels cornered and finally slips out through the backdoor to hide in the nearby forest. While Viggo is searching the forest Natan returns to the house and gathers the nerve to stroke the dog. Sabina tells Natan that she thinks he is capable of relating to other people. When Viggo returns, flabbergasted at Natan's childish prank, he urges Natan to get into his car and leave, while Sabina invites Natan to spend some more time with the dog in her house, which he accepts. |
