Description
Summary:Verzio FF Submission The Carinthian Slovenes are one of the minorities in Austria. Their rights are recorded in Article 7 of the 1955 Austrian State Treaty. The implementation of these rights has over decades proved to be very difficult and the number of minority members has been falling dramatically from year to year. The main pillars for the maintenance of the Slovenian language are the cultural and choral societies in the village of Southern Carinthia. A group of girls from the small village of Sele in the heart of the Karavanke mountains decided to use a special pastime to strengthen their community and to take Slovenian speech throughout Carinthia: football.
